Entrepreneurial Orientation: Stages of the Concept Development
and Main Research Directions
Abstract
The present study is devoted to the analysis of the literature on entrepreneurial orientation (EO), its antecedents and the role it plays in a firm with a view to develop an original approach to the concept developmental periodization. The analysis of the literature that comprises the main EO research directions allowed to distinguish 4 stages of the concept evolution. It constitutes the main theoretical contribution of this paper. The peculiarities of a contemporary stage allowed formulating further research directions that would foster the progress in the field.
