Functional subcultures in the implementation of organizational changes: A case of an energy company in Kazakhstan

Purpose: to identify the influence of the functional subcultures of organization on organizational changes in an energy company.
Methodology: an empirical study of functional subcultures was conducted using the OCAI questionnaire survey, semi-structured personal interviews, group interviews, and focus group in an energy companу.
Findings: the factors of differentiation and fragmentation of organizational functional subcultures negatively affecting the implementation of organizational changes in the energy company were identified. The scheme of interaction of functional subcultures that promotes the integration of organisation and effective implementation of organizational changes was developed.
Originality and contribution: this study considers the problems of integration of functional organizational subcultures of an energy company, the solution of which contributes to the implementation of organizational change. This practice is applicable to a wide range of production companies.
