Inter-organizational Information Systems in the Inter-firm Networks

Abstract

When exploring the role of ICT in managing company both academic and business people focus more on system supporting the interorganizational relations rather then statealone integrated business support system. Nowadays the concept of Interorganizational Information Systems (IOIS) takes its shape. This article presents the IOIS concept to Russian readers. The author describes the development of IOIS concept, analyses different approaches to the definition of the IOIS and its major attributes as well as distinctive features.
