Evolution of Forms of Integration and Governance Models: Experiences of Large Russian Corporations and Groups
Abstract
The paper focuses on one of the most pressing challenges Russia’s economy faces today: that is, integration and reorganization processes that take place in large national business groups. While highlighting on characteristic peculiarities of the noted processes in the 1990s, the author centers on current forms of integration and correlations between them, and merger and takeover processes of the 2000s, and considers peculiarities of emergence of various corporate governance models. The paper specifically addresses the largest groups’ international expansion and the contradictory role played by the state in the context of the noted processes.
