KONE Corporation: An Experience of Internationalization
Abstract
The author describes the history and current strategy of the Finnish corporation KONE. Starting from a small workshop, KONE has become one of the leaders in lift equipment production. KONE’s strategy is based on utilization of knowledge as assets. Knowledge assets made it possible for KONE to aquire a number of companies around the world since the late 1960es and obtain a significant market share in many countries (for instance, Japan, China, and Russia).
