Production System Modernization at Russian Industrial Enterprises: Modern Condition and Prospects
Abstract
The modernization of production systems, implying the rational organization of worker operations, inventories management, quality management, etc, is one of the ways to improve the competitiveness. According to the industrial enterprises survey, nearly one third of firms already have the experience of production system improvements based on Japanese production management. Most of them are large metallurgical or machine construction enterprises. At the same time, the systematic and consistent improvements are carried out only at 5% of enterprises surveyed. The experience of firms in improving their production systems proves to be prospective for overcoming the bottlenecks in production, increasing the productivity and lowering the costs.
