Modern trends in digital transformation of Russian full-cycle agricultural enterprises

Purpose: to assess key trends and prioritize the areas for further development and implementation of digital platforms to support production and management technologies in smart agriculture.
Methodology: the study used the methods of content and logical analysis of scientific publications on the topic of digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex in Russia and abroad, methods of statistical analysis of data from official reports of Rosstat and the World Food Organization.
Findings: the study provides an up-to-date description of the implementation of the digital transformation process in the agriculture sector. Critical problems have been identified and the key objectives have been formulated to increase the effectiveness of the development and application of domestic digital platforms supporting production technologies and management of smart agricultural enterprises. The paper presents the concept of designing the architecture and forming the functionality of a digital platform in the precision farming paradigm.
Originality and contribution: the prioritization of the areas for improving the development and implementation of digital platforms in the domestic agro-industrial complex was carried out with regard to the principle of national technological independence in the critical areas of the economy. When designing and creating digital solutions for smart agricultural production, it is recommended to account for the following aspects: the implementation of a complex of socio-economic relations of different in scale agribusiness enterprises and specificity of the territory of their economic activity, the use of closed-cycle technologies and the specialization of an economic entity in the agro-industrial complex subsector when pairing its intelligent information system with a state digital platform for regulating agriculture.
